I've been tagged

I am too lazy to do the survey that Christina tagged me in, so I will just blog for her instead...

We have had a really great thanksgiving. It was so great to see my uncle and get to hang out with him. I had really missed him. I was really glad that Kenneth got to spend Thanksgiving with us too. We went to see the UT game right after lunch. It was a great game because we really slaughtered the aggies 49-9. Kenneth had a great time that day at Hillarys. They played Uno and went shopping at the Midnight Sale at the outlet malls.

Today we are going to the UH vs Rice football game for the Conference USA title! Should be a great time!

A post for Christina

So I haven't updated in awhile...I'm getting really excited about California next weekend with Christina, Jerry, Caroline, Caroline's mom, DA, and Rodrick. We are goin to see our friend Erin's wedding. I can't wait for the cool fall weather and great times with friends. I am still looking for a job and trying to get into dental school. Today i worked at my dad's office just to get a little income. I got called by Kenneth's teacher today about his behavior and she told me to expect two more calls from other teachers. So fun being a "parent". He's in big trouble, trust me. That's about all I've got right now! :)

A couple of updates...

1) And most importantly. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling are back together and it makes me the happiest person ever. Here is what one of my favorite bloggers has to say about it

Rachel and Ryan are supposed to be together FOREVER! Didn’t they see The Notebook? They are supposed to dote on one another throughout senility and failing health, realizing again and again that their love is a force of a thing that transcends the wicked confines of the human form and then they die peacefully in one another’s arms and I bawl my eyes out.

I love them. And I dont think I can handle another breakup from them!

2) Jonathan Knight is gay!!! He was my favorite New Kid on the Block. Crushing.

3) Didnt do well on my DAT but no biggie, God has something even more amazing and wonderful planned for my life. My new mission is to find out what it is!! Off to Vegas!!!!

Missing in Action

If you are wondering what's been going on with me.... I can honestly tell you NOTHING!! I've been studying my ass off and making great improvements on my scores, but not good enough. I have two days to at least raise my score by 1 more point. I am taking another practice test tomorrow so I will keep you updated. My greatest achievement is my archnemesis, quantitative reasoning (math) has been conquered. I never have received a higher score than a 14 on that section, and I have been making consistent 19s recently. It's very exciting in my little very boring world. I'm very upset that The Hills is taking over my favorite show, Run's House on MTV tonight. I guess that should tell me that I need to be studying more than watching tv. Anyways, christina tagged me in this survey and I'll tag bonnie since she's the only person who reads this :)

Driving the Second Mile

Originally by Bammel Youth Minister Eric Petty

So I just thought this was a nice thought. And I find him to be hilarious.

Recently I was driving, because that's what I do. You probably don't know this about me, but I pride myself on obeying many of the laws of automobile operation. For example, I think it's a good thing to NOT weave in and out of traffic in downtown Houston doing 70 miles per hour while texting a friend and eating a doughnut. But, apparently, that's just me. I have found since moving here that many people do not feel the same that I do about said weaving.

I also admire the "unwritten" rules of traffic. The other day, for example, I was on Kuykendahl coming to work, when I spied someone who needed to turn from a parking lot into the street. So I motioned for them to get in front of me. And they did. Yet, htey must not understand the "unwritten" laws because I sat their waiting for a friendly wave which never came. Everyone knows what I'm talking about. When someone lets you in front of them, you acknowledge their act of vehicular humanitarianism by simply looking into their eyes and giving a little wave. It doesn't even have to be a whole wave. Simply throwing your hand up in appreciation and mouthing "thanks" or "you're the man" or "I don't know where I'd be without you" will suffice. But this person...well, he did nothing. Not a wave, a head nod, a tip of the cap...nothing.

You can imagine how incensed I was. I mean, you can't ignore someone when they do something good for you. But then I asked myself why I let the guy in front of me in the first place. Was I doing a good deed just to bask in the delicious splendor of someone's praise for being such a good person, or was I genuinely trying to help someone? The fact is, sometimes we aren't going to be acknowledged for our good works, and that can be a bummer. But that doesn't mean we stop doing good just because people don't give us a key to the city. That's part of going the second milke. I know that when I get to the point that I do good just because it's what my Savior wants me to do, and I dont even notice when people aren't appreciative, I'll be closer to what HE wants me to be. I'll be closer to what He wants. That's what it means to be Christ for people. That's what it's like to be on the second mile.

Ive been bamboozled!

So I love Chris Brown.
And surprisingly enough, I like his techno, dance-infused new song "Forever". I've always been annoyed, however, but one line - "double your pleasure, double your fun". It never seemed to go with the rest of the song. But I still played it constantly and loved the song. So I have uncovered the mystery - Chris Brown is actually being paid by Wrigley's as a spokesman and they actually paid for his studio time and everything for that song. Ne-yo is working on one for their Big Red gum. This does not take away my love for Chris, but i will not be buying any Wrigley's gum just because of a dumb song!

Vegas, baby!

So as you probably know, I went to vegas for my birthday. It was incredibly fun. My best friend Kristin from NYC came in town and also my friends from Austin, Ashley and Jessica. The first day, Wednesday, it was just Rodrick and I. We went to dinner at a restaurant called Valentino's in the Venetian. It was sooo delicious. We also went on one of my dreams, a gondola ride - now all I have to do is go on one in Venice! We got to see a couple get engaged, and although it was sweet, apparently it happens like 5 times a day, so it didnt seem that special to me. Rodrick got mad at me because I was wearing my super high zebra print shoes so therefore couldn't really walk around the mall while we were waiting for our gondola ride. (I did, however get a million compliments about them). So we sat and watched the different gondolas go by and even got to see the smoke coming from an art gallery that was right in front of our bench - it caused a big commotion. After our gondola ride, it was about 11 vegas time (1 am jenni time), so we went to the red box to get a dvd. We couldnt agree on one, so we went home to go to bed.
Thursday was KRISTIN DAY!!! And also, my birthday! :) It was quite an exciting time. Rodrick woke me up to birthday jell-o (his specialty) - it was filled with alcohol and quite a shock at 8 in the morning. But it was so sweet of him - he even had little candles in it. As I was getting dressed, he even played and sang along to a birthday mix that he had made. He really made my birthday special. So at around 10, Kristin calls me to say she's landed (she had told me her plane got in at 11...if you know her, you know its very her to do that!!). So we hustled down to the airport to get her. After picking up Kristin, we went to get cupcakes (I got 1 cupcake for every A I made in Anatomy I - from Rodrick). They were so delicious!! I got one of every flavor that involved chocolate. We spent most of the day lounging about at tao beach. It was soo relaxing. At night, Ashley and Jessica finally got in town. We went to eat at the Palms and then out to Moon. It was sort of uneventful because all the girls were tired and we went home early.
Friday was another Tao Beach day - but this time it was all girls! (Rodrick had to work). ...After a few hours we got tired of Tao because of the loud music and naked women everywhere.. so we went to the quiet pool and laid in the chairs for a few more hours. We played the slots for like 5 minutes and then met Rodrick for his lunch break. After lunch, the girls watched tv and i fell asleep until Rodrick was done with work. Rodrick and I were goin to go see Batman but it was too full and I didnt want to sit in the front, so we played bingo instead. It was sooo fun. I think im very close to getting him hooked. :) That night, we went out to JET where Paul Pierce was having a NBA champs party. It was so fun and we even eventually worked our way into VIP. We had a great time. Ashley got sick, but Im pretty sure she'd say she had a fantastic time.
Saturday, I was supposed to leave but my dad called me to tell me that my flight got delayed. I talked my way into getting to stay until sunday for free so that was really exciting. We dropped Ashley and Jessica off at summer league and then went to Applebees for lunch (actually really good, i dont know that id ever been there) and then to the mall to get an outfit for the night. Kristin had to leave at 11 pm so we were very sad to see her go :(. I didnt end up going out with Ash and Jess that night...but they did end up hanging out with Kevin Durant and DJ Augustine (NBA players) which is really cool. Rodrick and I spent the rest of the weekend eating, goin to the Bellagio gardens, watching movies, and just being together. It was the greatest birthday :)
